The Changing Room
A five-piece traditional folk ensemble from Looe, Cornwall, The Changing Room was founded in 2014 by Tanya Brittain and Sam Kelly. The lineup met with instant success, wowing critics, charming audiences and piling up awards from the start. Dollops of humour and Cornish-language songs feature in the chemistry of their collaborative and musically eclectic live shows. Far from merely curating museum music, however, the band is breathing new life into old forms, showing contemporary audiences how English trad folk can be as vibrant and relevant as ever. UK Folk Radio said that The Changing Room is where the magic happens. Experience the magic yourself at their first CFC appearance.
The Wardens (first-up)
Superb musicianship, haunting harmonies and chilling tales from three men who spent their lives in Canada's mountain national parks protecting grizzly bears and rescuing stranded hikers? Check. Since leaving the back country, Ray Schmidt (vocals, upright bass, mandolin), Scott Ward (vocals, fingerstyle guitar) and Bradley Bischoff (vocals, lead and rhythm guitars) have appeared at Folk Alliance International, shared the stage with Blue Rodeo, and released Sleeping Buffalo (2017).
